Some of the biggest challenges as an educator are to
maintain learner’s motivation level and engagement in the
learning process. Goal setting is known to be one of the way
to monitor and set clear learning goals to benefit learners’
learning journey in school. According to Zimmerman (2011)
goal orientation is the purpose or the reason of the learners’
achievement. Participants will get an overview of the goal
orientation theory to better understand the theoretical
background of goal orientation and how it benefit the learners’
self-regulation in learning.

The workshop will be followed by discussion and exploration
on OKRs or Objective and Keys goal setting model. In 1999,
John Doer introduced OKRs to google cofounder named
Sergey Birn and Larry Page. Their company has now become
the world’s second most valuable by market capitalization
and It still uses the OKRs model to monitor their
achievements goals in Google.

In this workshop, participants will get to discover on how to
facilitate learners to set the right goals for their learning. By
bringing OKRs goal setting model into practice in teaching.
